organizations associated with that

that organizations.
Post so people can find your organization's notices
Anyone involved with an organization can have the
name listed in postanotice. First, from any posting page, "Click
to search" organization name. If you locate it, simply
click Select this organization, and the name will be
automatically entered into your notice posting page.
If you do not locate the name, submit a request
to have it listed by clicking, List an organization name,
from the search page. Please only
create an organization
name if you are authorized to do so. Fill out the form,
remembering to use the official name or the one
that members agree is to be used for all notices. Next,
select up to three Areas of Interest from the pick list (hold the Ctrl key down
to select more than one).
We will notify you by email when the name is listed.
Why create an organization or venue name?
To increase exposure.
For visitors to search by area code and be able to see postings
for activities, events, meetings, and various support functions.
To have one convenient place for members to see all
their organization's notices.
Remember--notices posted for organizations can be
searched by organization name, Area of Interest, and viewed
in a category by location or other search
options.
Area of Interest
Remember that Area
of Interest (AOI) is assigned to an organization and notices by those doing
the posting, not us at postanotice. And that AOIs for notices
can be different than the AOI for the organization posting that
notice.
In case you wish to know more than you need to,
here's how Area of Interest works.
AOI is associated to organization names and
notices separately - there are two AOI database tables, one
allowing the organization name to be associated with up to three
AOIs, and another different table allowing each notice to be
associated with one AOI.
This allows an organization--whose primary
area is, say, athletics, to have an art auction fundraiser event
and list the notice AOI as Arts, Culture. Anyone searching Arts,
Culture in the Events category will be able to locate this
notice, even though the organization's AOI is associated with
Athletics, Sports, Recreation.
On the other side, if a visitor searches for an
organization by AOI, "Athletics, Sports, Recreation," they will
list only those organizations with that AOI, but after clicking
"Get these notices" will view all notices for that organization
- even though the AOI for a notice is Arts, Culture.
In other words, notices can have AOIs that are
different from the organization associated with that notice. And
searching from within a category, such as Events, will bring up
notices with an associated AOI that may be different from the
organization AOI.
